The "Silent Hill Documentary" was announced back in June of 2008. I, Fungo, was planning on hosting a documentary going over every game in the entire Silent Hill series to explain the story and give a general review. Rosseter and I decided to get together to combine our creative talents and film this expose. In order for all this to happen, I needed to move to Arizona to begin filming the video in High Definition. |

Things are going well, we are about three quarters done with the Final Draft of the script and planning to start filming in November/December. Filming will only take a week, and after that there will be 3 or so weeks of just editing. We will keep you posted weekly on the progress. The real title of the documentary will remain a secret until the release day. Also, as a bonus, we are planning on releasing the soundtrack to the video as we are using our own music and some remixes. Look forward to this released simultaneously with the documentary on Silent Hill Media. Stop by next week for more information as the documentary nears completion. |

It has been a month, yet I have no screenshots nor goodies for you due to the semi-secrecy of the project. BUT, I have good news. We are just finishing the script as I speak. We are going to have a third party read through it possibly Monday and offer suggestions. In December we WILL BEGIN FILMING. So, if all goes well, you will be watching an amazingly entertaining, hour-long expose on the Silent Hill series in January. |

Hooray for another beautiful day in the making of the anticipated "Silent Hill Documentary". The script is finished and is receiving some final polish, formatting, and organization (at 45 pages). Many of the title sequences and intro are nearly finished, but we only have three remixed songs (we will work on more music when the footage is being edited). We have finished editing a few game scenes and are now awaiting funds to purchase supplies (such as magic screens, tapes, and lighting) prior to filming. Not much to say, really. We HAVE been working on the project. We are filming and editing at the moment. Halfway done filming with a few reshoots planned. Everything is going smoothly and we are happy with the quality of footage. :) OH, I know I missed it! Sorry everyone, but JANUARY 31st was the TEN YEAR anniversary of Silent Hill (in the US). But the Anniversary continues until August 1st of this year! Have some cake! |
| I'd say we have good and bad news. The bad news is that we are delaying the documentary (once again D:), but the good news is that the documentary will be much better. More good news is that we are planning on releasing the documentary in around 12 sections so you don't have to wait for the entire thing to be finished. Here is the news post from the forum: I do realize it has been a while since the last update, but that is because I am both hard at work on editing and filming AND taking care of some major life problems. I would also like to mention this is our first time taking on a project of such proportions, so we bit off more than we could chew. That's not to say we can't handle it, because we can handle it - it will just take more time. Because of this we are setting the release date to "SUMMER" 2009. We will work hard in delivering the documentary in weekly episodes of ten of so minutes each to help with the wait, but this won't start happening for a little while. Thanks for being very patient. I apologize as I know a lot of people are looking forward to this. Perfection takes time. :D If you applied to be a translator and you haven't gotten a response, then that is because I am sorting through a lot of emails and trying my hardest to get to each of them. You'll get a reply ASAP. |
| Good news! Everything is going according to plan. Sorry for the lack of updates for the past few months. I was moving back to Wisconsin from Arizona after filming the documentary. We finished it and now the documentary is in Rosseters hands as he edits it and works on it daily. Since Rosseter is doing all the editing and game capturing, you can imagine this will take a long time. Don't worry though, everything is going very smoothly and is on track for release this summer in celebration of the TEN YEAR anniversary. TRANSLATORS: we did not forget about you! We are currently waiting for the entire sections to be completely arranged before we start sending out the txt files. You will be notified weeks in advance before we start sending you the documents to translate. Soon we will be releasing a video discussing the documentary. Stay tuned! |
| Hello fellow Silent Hill fans! I figured it was about time for another update. Things are still going at a slow, but steady pace. If all goes as planned, the documentary will be released sometime in September, but if you know how bad we are in putting a deadline on things you may not believe us. Releasing in September is the ultimate goal. The earlier the better. Rosseter is completely finished recording all the in-game footage for all the games and has already finished editing a few lengthy sections such as Silent Hill 1 and Homecoming. Turns out the documentary will be almost a good two hours, but don't you think the Silent Hill series deserves that much? TRANSLATORS: Get ready! You will be contacted in the next few weeks for translating some documents. We will find a secure way to do this without leaking any information. This information you are given is CONFIDENTIAL and cannot be shown to ANYONE regardless. Wish us luck, we will continue editing and giving status updates every couple weeks. The Silent Hill Documentary will not be the last video project by us. I am currently working on releasing a videogame review series on my own called Fungo Review with a similar style.
